Ford Picks LG As Battery Supplier

Ford Motor Co. will employ Compact Power Inc. as their main battery supplier. Does CPI sound familiar? It should  - it created the lithium-ion battery pack used in Chevrolet's Volt.

The battery maker is a subsidiary of popular electronics producer LG. LG is probably best known in the United States and Canada as a maker of batteries and entertainment devices, such as cell phones and televisions.

Ford Mustang Gets 48.5 MPG for 2011

Ford's Mustang has already impressed enthusiast of both green cars and muscle - by being the first 31 MPG along with 305 horsepower.

Ford has been emphasizing the efficiency of its new 2011 Mustang V6. The automaker's latest promotion, Mustang 1,000 Lap Challenge, demonstrated how a stock production Mustang V-6 could run 1,000 laps (aka 533 miles) around Bristol Motor Speedway on a single of tank of fuel.
